If you torture data long enough, it will confess!

If I had to pick only one skill that has helped me become a better Marketer, it’s being “Data-Driven”.

Identify the RIGHT kind of Data -> Analyze Data -> Understand Results -> Use Results to Optimize for more MQLs, Form Fills, Registrations….and the list goes on.

Data can come in different forms and sizes. Here’s what worked for me:

  1. New Revenue Stream

Data — Consumer survey data. Result — Identified a sponsorship cross-sell opportunity worth $100,000+

2. 2x Revenue per Client

Data — Existing customer base. Result — Identified a new customer segment that’s eligible for more than one of our services. Selling to this new segment will help us earn double the revenue per client

3. Increase in MQLs

Email List Optimization

Data — List of existing clients. Result — identifying the kinds of organizations that are most attracted to us, built cold email lists based on analyzed data, and got an additional 1 to 3 leads per email

Email Template Optimization

Data — Customer inquiry data. Result — Personalized emails with information that resonates with buyer persona

4. Turned around a Failed Service

Data — Previous year’s Marketing campaign, execution strategy and target audience. Result — Identifying targeting inefficiencies and optimizing current year’s marketing campaign, leading to an increase in MQL conversion rate by 150%
